Our product, Mysterious Mirror® JEUX D’EAU, has been selected for the ceiling of the atrium at JR East Niigata Station. This atrium is part of a redevelopment project that began in 2006 and opened on April 25, 2024, gaining attention as a new landmark in Niigata.

A Design Inspired by the Shinano River
The concept behind the atrium design is to create a lively and distinctly Niigata space. Inspired by the flow of the Shinano River, one of Niigata’s most iconic landscapes, the ceiling features Mysterious Mirror® JEUX D’EAU. This mirror creates stunning reflections reminiscent of flowing water, combining light and reflection effects to immerse visitors in a space that harmonizes with Niigata’s natural beauty.

Materials Reflecting Niigata’s Natural Landscape
The atrium design at Niigata Station skillfully incorporates the region’s terrain and scenery. In addition to Mysterious Mirror® JEUX D’EAU, which represents the Shinano River, the design includes tiles inspired by Niigata’s sand dunes and rice paddies, steel fins that mimic the rocky faces of Satoyama hills, and fixtures made of beech wood. These design elements beautifully capture the essence of Niigata.

Features of Mysterious Mirror® JEUX D’EAU
Mysterious Mirror® JEUX D’EAU is a uniquely reflective design panel that evokes the flow of water and the flickering of light. It can be customized to meet client needs and is made from stainless steel, making it a recyclable and environmentally friendly material. Beyond its visual appeal, this product contributes to a sustainable society by being an eco-conscious design solution.

Contribution to the Project
In this project, Mysterious Mirror® JEUX D’EAU played a symbolic role in connecting Niigata’s natural beauty with urban design. The ceiling design, which captures the essence of the Shinano River, leaves a lasting impression on visitors and evokes Niigata’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
