Highly corrosion-resistant, high-strength metal panels with design features were used for the walls of a public facility in Nakagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
To maintain the aesthetics of the wall surface and to ensure that the facility will be loved by the public for a long time, duplex stainless steel (NSSC®2351), an alternative to SUS316L with high corrosion resistance, was selected, and the high strength characteristic of duplex stainless steel was added.
The most distinctive feature of this duplex stainless steel design metal panel is the gradation process.
The installation site is located at a very high place, and the metal panel was designed to capture the visibility from a distance and the nature that changes depending on the angle of view with the gradation of sunlight and the sky.
This is the first time that this high-strength, highly corrosion-resistant duplex stainless steel (NSSC®2351_sheet) has been used in an architectural application.
