In the previous article, we introduced the polishing of Polka Plate, an anti-slip stainless steel flooring material.
This time, we would like to introduce the polishing of Checker Plate, a common non-slip stainless steel flooring material.
We want it to be non-slippery during transportation, but slippery when unloading. This is a solution to such a wish.
What is a checker plate?
It is stainless steel with an “X” surface pattern like this one.
The size of this plate is 1219mm x 2438mm.
If you zoom in
It has a surface pattern like this.
There is nothing wrong with it for normal use.
However, if you are going to use this checker plate to transport and unload things on it, you need to be a little creative.
It is good because it does not shift when it is being transported, but when it is being unloaded, the corner of the “X” on the checker plate seems to get caught, which increases the resistance and makes it difficult to unload.
This is the area that is checked in red.
So, we selectively cut only that part.
This way, it seems to use a little less force.
Only the head of the checker plate was machined with mechanical equipment.
This application adds the function of ease of unloading to the non-slip stainless steel.
In addition, if the luster is increased, it may be used for beautiful design applications.
