The following is an introduction to the properties of titanium.
We use ”Titanium from Nippon Steel Corporation
We use pure titanium because it is used for decorative purposes and for applications that require durability.
Let’s start with the characteristics of titanium.
It is light, strong, and rustproof.
It is a building material that has all three characteristics, and it will not decay in the sea wind or acid rain.
It is half as light as copper and as strong as steel.
It is as rust-resistant as platinum.
Proven performance in large-scale seaside construction and volcanic ash countermeasures.
Unmatched resistance to acid rain, the new enemy of buildings.
When IP gold is applied to this material
“IP Golden Titanium, which protects our culture from the passage of time, is born.
The surface is resistant to damage and discoloration even when exposed to the elements for long periods of time.
It is ideal for traditional architecture, applications near the seashore, store signs, and exterior materials.
So, how durable are they?
(1) Strength against seawater
A variety of materials are damaged near the coast.
Test: CCT 280 cycles
Titanium
It has not faltered in the CCT280 cycle test. There is no discoloration or corrosion.
Gilded copper plate
The surface is corroded after 280 CCT cycles.
Stainless steel (SUS316)
At 280 CCT cycles, it will rust.
It is stronger than general-purpose stainless steel, but if you need more performance than this, you will need to upgrade the steel grade.
Now, let’s take a look at the processing performance of this IP Gold Titanium.
<Bending process>
90°R0.75t t=0.4mm
No cracks or delamination.
<Drop weight test>
Tip diameter 5/8in. weight 4lb height 4ft
No cracks or delamination.
<Go board scribing and boiling test>
Immersion in tap water at 100°C for 48 hours
Tape test result: no peeling
Titanium is extremely strong as a material, but it can be used as a highly durable design material with a beautiful golden color by processing it into IP golden.
In this article, I have explained only a few of the characteristics of titanium.
I would like to introduce titanium again in the future.
